National Dance Company Wales
Since 1983, National Dance Company Wales has established itself as an award-winning dance company, presenting adventurous and stylish programmes of dance. Artistic Director, Ann Sholem is committed to presenting a unique repertoire by commissioning choreographers whose work is generally not seen in the UK. Performances consist of double or triple bills and are toured throughout Wales, the UK and overseas. The Company is a flagship company for Wales and a leading European dance company, producing an engaging and exciting repertoire with prestigious international choreographers.
The company currently consists of nine dancers with one apprentice. Recent commissions include works from: Stephen Petronio (US), Stephen Shropshire (US/Netherlands), Itzik Galili (Israel), Stijn Celis (Belgium), Andonis Foniadakis (Greece), Juan Carlos Garcia (Spain), Roy Campbell-Moore (Wales) and Hélène Blackburn (Montreal).
The Company tours throughout the world performing in a diverse range of venues including: Wales Millennium Centre (Cardiff), The Grand Opera House (Belfast), Queen Elizabeth Hall (London), Teatro National de Cuba (Havana), Palacio Euskalduna (Bilbao), Grand Theatre (Chongqing, China), and Technopolis (Athens).
