Dance Courses for young people who want to develop their interest in dance

National Dance Company Wales will be welcoming young people interested and have a passion in dance to  be a part of the Spring, Summer and Masterclass courses for 2016 at its home, the Dance House, Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff

Throughout the year National Dance Company Wales offers unique opportunities for those interested in dance and to expand their interest with the company’s professional dancers at its studios. Applications are now open for the next two events, Spring Course for ages 9-18 and Summer Course / Masterclass for ages 13-21.

The Spring Course from 30 March until 1 April is a 3 day workshop that enhances young people’s basic level of contemporary dance. During the 3 days they will have fun learning more about contemporary dance. They will take part in activities focusing on developing technical ability, co-ordination, alignment and flexibility.

This course is ideal for those who have some dance experience (who have attended regular dance classes for at least a year such as ballet or our Dance Days) but want to develop their passion for dancing.

The Spring Course is £60 per person and spaces are limited. Deadline for Spring Course is 11 March.

For those who are  more advanced in ability and experience, National Dance Company Wales hosts a week long Summer Course and Masterclass from 8- 12 August, for ages 13-21 at the Dance House. The Summer Course and Masterclass is a 5 day intensive delivered by our company dancers, with a guest masterclass from the Company’s Artistic Director, Caroline Finn.

Based on their level of ability, applicants will be assigned to either the Summer Course or Masterclass  with both courses  focussing on technique and creative and choreographic skills to an advanced level.

Both Summer Course and the Masterclass are ideal for those who have experienced dance before (most suitable for those who have attended regular dance classes for at least three years and want to develop to a professional level).

The Summer Course is £120 per applicant for 5 days. Deadline for applications for Summer and Masterclass course is 20 July

Application forms are available from the NDCWales website ndcwales.co.uk or if you would like further information please contact Julia Gay on Julia@ndcwales.co.uk or 029 2063 5605.
