Our House is Your House

As well as producing and performing our own work at the Dance House, National Dance Company Wales also encourages other performers, artists and the general public to benefit from the excellent facilities we have at our Cardiff home. This enables us to engage with the public, thereby creating awareness of the Company and the work we create and present.

Current Projects

SHH!

An intriguing and innovative work which takes place in a virtual/installed ‘house'. Co-directed by Artistic Associate of Diversions Roy Campbell-Moore and visual artist Sue Williams in collaboration with Chloe Loftus and Jem Treays. Audiences are able to move around as they watch the dysfunctional couple. SHH! is base on the recurring themes of communication in Sue Williams' images.

SHH! was premiered at the Dance House in March 2009.

If you are interested in presenting SHH! at your venue or gallery please contact Diversions on 02920 635 600 for more information.

Annual Events at the Dance House

Alternative Routes

This is an annual major co-production between National Dance Company Wales and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama celebrating Wales-based creativity as choreographers collaborate with designers from Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama to make new work. These productions are a way of developing new talent and potential partnerships for future collaborations.

Departure Terminal

This is a period when Diversions dancers have an opportunity to develop their own choreographic ideas and creativity. The project can take two forms - either by taking part in a series of workshops and discussions or being choreographers, creating fully produced works that are shown to invited guests in the Dance House.

Youth Dance Gala

Each year, we have hosted a Youth Dance Gala at the Dance House, celebrating some of the best youth dance throughout Wales. Groups that are invited are producing the best and most accomplished work and present this work in a showcase of innovative talent and development. The performance is held at the Dance House for public audiences as well as family and friends. The Youth Dance Gala is a superb way of bringing talented and dedicated young dancers together to see the variety of work and the high standard of performance being made by young people today.
